Fuji GF system is here since 2016 and so far this is the most affordable and smallest medium format camera.
General rule is the more expensive the camera, the more it will be specialized. Fuji GFX is made to excel in certain types of photography: landscape, fine art, portraits, fashion and product photos to name a few. This is where megapixels count, where you need perfect color reproduction and best possible dynamic range.
Compared with other medium format cameras, Fuji is quite compact. Pentax 645 has traditional SLR design and is 2 or 3 times the volume… mirrorless can save enormous space compared to SLR design. It is possible to fit GFX and two or even three lenses in a small shoulder bag. Impressive!
Here is a gear porn photo of entire (currently available) system; GFX 50S body and three lenses.
You can find all the details in two of my video reviews, first one is on camera and second covers three lenses I used with it; 63mm F/2.8, 32-64mm F/4 and 120mm F/4 macro.
