CANON POWERSHOT S120 REVIEW CONCLUSION

Cameras from Canon Powershot S-series have for a long time been very popular due to its small physical size and high image quality. S120 will most certainly continue this trend, but I feel it is slowly losing the battle against other similarly priced cameras. Today, you can buy mirrorless cameras that are somewhat larger but can blow Canon S120 out of its socks in image quality department at the same price point. Olympus PEN E-PM2 or Sony A5000 comes to my mind first, so I would really want to have the smallest possible camera in order to make me buy Canon S120. Don’t get me wrong – S120 is not a bad camera, but is simply does not offer enough to make it significantly more attractive than similarly priced competitors.

CANON POWERSHOT S120 PROS:

  • LCD quality and touch sensitivity
  • Built-in Wi-Fi
  • Video recording quality
  • RAW file format
  • Wide range of advanced features
  • Small size

CANON POWERSHOT S120 CONS:

  • Battery life
  • Image quality is only average for this price point by modern standards
  • Main dial not protruded enough
  • Menu system does not remember last setting used
