Olympus 25mm F/1.2 Pro review

Olympus 25mm F/1.2 Pro lens is the fastest lens in terms of aperture available by Olympus at this moment. It keeps relatively small dimensions and weight given the large aperture and as it turned out, exceptional build and optical quality. You can find all information’s and test analysis in my Youtube review of this lens. Download links for full resolution sharpness test are below.

Test images:  F/1.2   F/1.4   F/2   F/2.8   F/4   F/5.6   F/8   F/11   F/16

Panasonic Lumix Leica 12-60mm F/2.8-4 OIS review

Panasonic 12-60mm F/2.8-4 OIS is the premium grade micro four thirds lens. At around $1000 it is not exactly affordable but promises (and delivers!) high image and build quality together with weather sealing and optical stabilization. It is also rather light at only 320g what is impressive considering Olympus had a lens of identical focal range and aperture at 575g back in the days when they produced DSLR cameras. Anyway, you can see my entire review on YouTube and just below there are crops at various focal legths and aperurtures to judge sharpness.

Fuji X-T2 review

X-T2 is the latest mirrorless flagship from Fuji, in price and features very similar to X-PRO 2.

It has impressive specifications some of which are 24MP sensor, advanced auto focus paired with very fast continuous shooting up to 14fps, high resolution LCD and EVF, 4K video recording, dual SD card slots and many more. All of that and more was the subject of my review which you can see on Youtube.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH5 review

I got to try the brand new Panasonic GH5 – a mirrorless camera that doesn’t hide it’s created for video users in mind. At the time of release it is one of only two “photo” cameras that can record 4k at 60fps (the other one being Canon EOS 1DX Mark II at around three times higher price point). Still, it is also supposed to appeal to photographers with its 20 megapixel stabilized sensor, 9fps burst with AF, proper DSLR- like ergonomics and battery life higher than other mirrorless cameras. Anyway, find out what I think about it in the next videos.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ100 (DMC-ZS100) review

At the beginning of January, I was among the first journalists to bring you quick preview of the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ100. The camera looked very promising and finally I got a production sample for a week to play with.  I was very anxious to check if the camera lived to its expectations and to find out if this might be the best travel camera of 2016.

Sony Announces new E-mount full frame lenses and new RX10 Mark III

On march 29. Sony announced new full frame E-mount lenses and next incarnation of its popular RX10 bridge camera. The lenses are FE 50mm F/1.8 and FE 70-300 F/4.5-5.6 G OSS. 50mm lens is particularly interesting for its attractive price tag – $250. This will be very popular alternative to quite pricey Zeiss FE 55/1.8 (around $1000). I can allready see it as part of a three prime lens combo (28/2, 50/1.8 and currently non-existing affordable 85/2).

Canon EOS 80D first thougths

2016 will be the year of the cameras for Canon. After the flagship EOS 1DX mark II, Canon recently released semi-pro model EOS 80D. This is a successor of the EOS 70D which was released back in the summer of 2013. Canon 80D brings a lot of improvements: 45 point AF module (all are cross type and central works down to -3EV), enhanced dual-pixel live view focusing system, improved video mode (1080@60p, mic input + headphones output) and finally a new 24 megapixels sensor which should give significant boost in image quality.

What is expected from Canon in 2016?

2016 is going to be Canon’s year. No less than five DSLR cameras are expected and three of them are top of the line models. They might not sell in huge numbers like entry level cameras, but are very important for working professionals as well as company image; Canon cannot afford to make just an ordinary products. The expected cameras are 1DX mark II, 5D mark IV, 6D mark II, 80D, 1300D and probably a replacement for 100D.
